TheTVObserver: The Oscars - Memories

Just before the big night over at ABC, I thought it best to just remember what the last event was like. As the 2009 Oscars take place on February 22, 2009 on ABC, to be hosted by Hugh Jackman. We will bring you a comprehensive STARSPREAD on the Oscars as the ceremony celebrates its 81th anniversary.

TheTVObserver’s Memorable Moments presents the previous Oscars, as we take you down memory lane. We start with the Oscar Live Coverage trailer.
Denzel Washington presented the 80th Best Picture winner. “No Country for Old Men” Producer Scott Rudin accepted the award.

My favourite director Scorsese presented the Best Director award. He called it "an award that, trust me, will mean so much to the recipient." The winner was Joel Coen and Ethan Coen for No Country for Old Men

Helen Mirren very dramatically presented the award for Best Actor. And the Oscar went to:
Daniel Day-Lewis for There Will Be Blood.

Forest Whitaker presented the award for Best Actress. And the Oscar went to: Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose.

The Rock presented the award for Best Visual Effects. The Oscar went to: Michael Fink, Bill Westenhofer, Ben Morris and Trevor Wood for The Golden Compass

Those were some of my favourite moments from last year’s ceremony. Check back with TheTVObserver for more on this years much anticipated award ceremony when we bring you a special STARSPREAD and much more from the Red Carpet and beyond.
