TheTVObserver: Jared Padalecki

TheTVObserver’s StarSpread presents Jared Padalecki. He is a tall and athletic actor with a winning smile. This Texas native came to Hollywood after winning a nationwide contest to be a presenter on the 1999 Teen Choice Awards.

The very next year, he landed a role on Gilmore Girls as Rory's on-again, off-again beau and instantly became a sex symbol.

I have to admit that after his appearance on Girlmore Girls especially what led to him to be the first person to sleep with Rory, while he was married. That did not make him a star in our books. We did not like Jared, oh sorry should we say….Dean.

But we realized that the guy was just acting. He then played a part in Cry Wolf, during which he hooked up with costar Sandra McCoy. But Padalecki returned to TV in 2005 to star on the eerie sci-fi series Supernatural.

Fast Facts:
  • Started taking acting lessons when he was 12.
  • Was a candidate for the Presidential Scholars Program in 2000.
  • Planned to attend the University of Texas but changed his mind when he won the role of Dean on Gilmore Girls.
  • Won a Claim to Fame contest in 1999 that sent him to the first Teen Choice Awards where he was noticed by an agent.
  • Received information about mythology to prep him for Supernatural from his mom, Sherri, a heroes, myths and legends high school teacher.

Jared Tristan Padalecki was born July 19, 1982r. Padalecki has most recently become known for his starring role as Sam Winchester on the CW television series Supernatural starring alongside Jensen Ackles.

I also do not enjoy his drama-queen type character on Supernatural. Sometimes I just want to jump into my plasma and strangle him for being such a nag, all the time. Poor Dean.

Padalecki's first credit was a minor role in the 1999 film A Little Inside.

In 2000, he was cast as Dean Forester on the successful series Gilmore Girls, a role he played until 2005.

Throughout the early 2000s, he also appeared in several made-for-television films, including Silent Witness (2000), Close to Home (2001), and A Ring of Endless Light (2002).

Padalecki had an uncredited part as a high school bully in 2003's comedy Cheaper by the Dozen, which he played after being asked by fellow actor and friend Tom Welling, who played the part of Charlie Baker, and the director of the movie, who both wanted someone bigger than Welling to pick on him.

Padalecki originally auditioned for Welling's role, but had to give it up in order to film a pilot titled Young MacGyver which was never picked up.[6] In 2004, he appeared in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen comedy New York Minute, and also had a role in the thriller Flight of the Phoenix.

Padalecki was cast as Sam Winchester on The CW series, Supernatural.

Jared Padalecki will now and forever be Sammy Winchester, beloved brother of Dean Winchester, to me. He and his co-star, Jensen Ackles, are the quintessential 'brothers' of TV Land. Never has a series taken my soul and imagination to such heights. Supernatural is a series that stole my heart and Jared as Sam is perfect as Dean's pain-in-the-ass little brother. True love for those boys.....
