TheTVObserver: Gale Harold Returns

May the 3rd is the big day for all Gale Harold fans and it looks like he may just return with a bang or should I say a ring.

The TV hunk returns to Wisteria Lane following his accident after landing in intensive care last Oct 14. The actor said the accident taught him that “you can play hard, but you may have to pay a price.”

It is quite interesting that Gale appeared in November 2007 in a guest role on ABC's Grey's Anatomy as Shane, a paramedic and white supremacist with a swastika tattooed on his abdomen, who is injured in an ambulance crash. Harold then joined the cast of Desperate Housewives on May 18, 2008 as Jackson Braddock, Susan Mayer's latest love interest.
Six months after his serious motorcycle accident, the “Desperate Housewives” actor has returned to work. His character, Jackson, is primed to propose to Susan, played by Teri Hatcher.

The 39-year-old Harold is an American actor best known for his roles on Queer as Folk, Desperate Housewives and Vanished.

After Hale’s accident, Jackson left town to take a teaching job, leaving Susan single again. "We were planning to end his storyline [around midseason]," Cherry explains. "But because of the accident, we get to bring him back for the end of the season, which will be a nice kind of full circle journey for Susan in season 5."

His co-star Neal McDonough tells TV Guide magazine, “It’s taken him such a long time to get back to being almost normal. And there are still many problems that he goes through.” But Harold has downplayed his injuries: “Obviously I was hurt. But you get better.”

Harold’s return episode is set to air May 3 on ABC. The actor is signed to the series through the end of this season but says he has yet to be asked to return for 2009-10.
